Long Term Conditions Alliance Scotland

LTCAS Annual Conference and AGM, 23 February 2010, Perth Concert Hall

'View from the Centre': How can we achieve person-centredness for people with long term conditions?

The concept of person-centred policy and practice has been gathering within health, social care agendas. Join LTCAS to explore how we can make this a reality for people living with long term conditions.

This once day conference will consider.

  • The reality of person centredness
  • How we can turn policy into practice
  • Emerging good practice, including projects funded through the self management fund.

There will be a range of workshops taking place on the day designed to share information, highlight good practice, and to encourage people from different sectors to engage in conversations.

Speakers will include:

  • Nicola Sturgeon MSP, Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Health and Wellbeing
  • Jill Vickerman, Deputy Director, Healthcare Planning, Scottish Government
  • Dr David Reilly, Clinical Lead, Integrative Care, Scottish Government
  • Colin Mair, Chief Executive, Improvement Service

This conference has been designed to be of interest to a wide range of people working within the voluntary sector, health, social care and government.

Exploring issues facing children and young people living with Long Term Conditions

This was a very successful day taking place on Tuesday 10 November at Edinburgh City Chambers. It was attended by around 100 representatives from the voluntary sector, health, education and government. The conference produced a wealth of discussion and ideas which LTCAS will seek to capture in a report published before the end of the year.
